The Mold Information and Prevention Addendum tells you all about mold, where it is found (virtually everywhere) and what it is (microscopic organisms which reproduce by spores). Mold breaks down organic matter and uses the end result for food. Mold spores spread through the air and can be commonly transported on shoes and clothing. A 2004 CDC study found there is no current scientific evidence that the accumulation of mold causes any significant health risks for people with a normally functioning immune system.
Prevention is simple: keep your home clean, remove visible moisture accumulation on windows, walls, ceilings, or floors. Promptly notify us in writing about any A/C or heating system problems and if you see any signs of water leaks, water infiltration, or mold. Also, keep your thermostat set to automatically circulate air.
If mold should occur, immediately notify the office for removal. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office.
